Today was a forced day of rest. We tried to leave a few times, but every time we tried, the sky opened up again. It even hailed! We decided to be prudent and stay indoors.

But then it cleared up and we had a beautiful evening.

The poor duck was way over-cooked—beyond killed. We thought it might be Marion’s British roots, but then she told us she had been a vegetarian for fifteen years now. She said that she used to eat steaks that her French grandmother made for her when she was a kid, and that she still remembers how good it was. She supposed that qualified her to cook meat. We think not.
