Today we met up with Theodora “Dora” Varvarigou and Theodoros Panou. They flew in from Athens early this morning. We had rented places next to each other, but because of the leak-mandated rental swap, we ended up on opposite sides of town. So we met in the middle, in front of the Musée des Augustins, and then ditched the museum to go and catch up in a coffee house down the street. It’s very nice to meet old friends in new places.

Theodoros Panou and Theodora Varvarigou in Restaurant Olga Werby

This evening, we dragged them to the all you can eat foie gras restaurant, L’Os à Moëlle, that we ate at on Day 3.

Tomorrow, we travel to another prehistoric cave. After we ate, Timothy drew in sugar what we are likely to see on the caves walls.

Done from memory, after much food and wine, they are credible renditions.

The last one, believe it or not, is a fairly accurate rendering of a 20,000 year old painting we saw at Pech Merle representing a well-endowed but headless woman. Yeah, nothing changes.

We were barely able to roll out of the restaurant. Just in time for our migration back to San Francisco, I feel like I’ve grown one giant engorged liver.

I’m not the only one who can’t spell.

Another adventure tomorrow.
